HISTORY: The U.S. National Park Service (who is celebrating their 100th birthday this year!) created the first National Fossil Day in 2010. There are more than 260 National Park Service areas that preserve fossils, including the Cape Cod National Seashore (MA), Springfield Armory National Historic Site (MA), Acadia National Park (ME), and the Marsh Billings Rockefeller National Historical Park (VT). SO COOL!!!
