It’s FINALLY here…the world premier of the first installment of  the movie Mockingjay, the final Hunger Games book in the trilogy by Suzanne Collins!  Eeeek, so exciting!!! The Hunger Games series has been one of our most popular book series in the library for the past few years so if you have not read them yet swing by and pick up a copy…you will not be disappointed!

If you are a true Hunger Games fan you totally need to get a Hunger Name! Ours were Dill Codswaddle  (aka Ms Fleck) who was killed by jumping over a landmine and landing on a pit of spikes,  Grackle Pickerdoo (aka Mrs Campbell) who was killed by slipping on a banana peel and landing on a bear, and  Cray Flickerman (aka Mr. Tyler) who was killed by his inability to outrun a swarm of Tracker Jackers …our fates could have been worse I think (at least we were not devoured by a horrible wolf mutation!)

Get your Hunger Name and fate HERE and may the odds be ever in your favor!!!

My armor is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws spears, the shock of my tail a thunderbolt, my wings a hurricane, and my breath death!

FINALLY, The Hobbit- The Desolation of Smaug is in theaters! SO EXCITING!

Written for J.R.R. Tolkien’s own children, The Hobbit met with instant critical acclaim when it was first published in 1937.  It is truly an unforgettable, classic tale and the second installment of the movie, of course, is going to be EPIC!!!

Can you guess the answers to Gollum’s riddles?

Riddle 1:
What has roots as nobody sees,
Is taller than trees,
Up, up it goes,
And yet never grows?

Riddle 2:
Voiceless it cries,
Wingless flutters,
Toothless bites,
Mouthless mutters.

Riddle 3:
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes out first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.

Riddle 4:
Alive without breath,
As cold as death;
Never thirsty, ever drinking,
All in mail never clinking.

Riddle 5:
This thing all things devours;
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats mountain down.

Riddle 6:

What do I have in my Pocket?
