(741.6 REQ)

Ever find a piece of paper on the street with random writing on it and wonder what it means and where it came from? Or found an old photograph of strangers and wonder who they were? REQUIEM FOR A PAPER BAG is a collection of short pieces written by celebrities (and some everyday people) about things they have found.

Some of the pieces are about how the “found” object affected the author; others, the person makes up a crazy backstory about the object. Some are sad, others are funny and all of them are interesting. A few of the pieces are illustrated, but most are in word form.

If you are a fan of the Post Secret books, you will definitely want to check this book out. Also, if you end up liking this book, check out these other titles:

Found: the best lost, tossed, and forgotten items from around the world (741.6 FOU)

Found II : more of the best lost, tossed, and forgotten items from around the world (741.6 ROT)

Other people’s love letters : 150 letters you were never meant to see (741.6 OTH)

Enjoy your extended weekend and be prepared to talk about your summer reading book and how it relates to change during Academic Advisory once we return.
